Before a person can work or live in the United Kingdom, whether on a temporary or permanent basis, that person will have to decide on which visa or permit to apply for. This visa or permit will determine the length of time you will be allowed to stay, can impose certain work restrictions and bring various other factors into the equation. Furthermore, without the correct visa or permit you might not be able to enter the UK. It is therefore important that you obtain the visa or permit most suitable to your unique circumstances.
